I agree that they are having server issues, but it seems like they are enforcing some kind of rule that punishes those who don't have an Open NAT. It’s unbelievable of a game this big that’s cost me $$ would be so broken that I can’t even play My NAT type has been opened all weekend and I haven’t been able to find 1 game. I will disable the port forwarding tonight, and see if it still says Open NAT. I went back and re-read the instructions from COD WW2, and it says the following: Depending on your router, you may be able to enable Universal Plug in Play (UPnP), port forwarding, or add your PS4 system to DMZ to get the NAT type to appear Open in game, which will provide the best experience for connecting with other players. The point of upnp is that it eliminates the need to do any port forwarding or port triggering. I imagine they are trying to do that to improve performance.įwiw typically you don't do both port forwarding and upnp. What I thought was frustrating is how Sledgehammer seems to be really punishing those of us who don't have an Open NAT. It's not just an Activision or COD thing. Thanks for info though.įrom what I can gather, this Open/Moderate/Strict NAT thing has been around for a while with gaming. Except for CoD, which never fails to lag or fuck with my NAT every time. Why is this still a thing with this franchise? I've never had to do this with any other MP game I've had and they all play just fine. Actually, I was really only able to play War mode, and I got kind of bored of it, so that sent me on my quest! For example, I couldn't get into Team Deathmatch at all, which I assume is the most popular mode, but I was able to get into War, Domination, and Hardpoint a few times. The servers are P2P, not dedicated, they're the problem I have a severe NAT type and I get into games with no problems.
